Calcium Supplement Effects
Tell patients eat Leafy Green Vegetables and Legumes to Build Bone
Dear Doctors:
CMS Medicare and Medicaid should not pay for Calcium Supplements. There are too many side effects to justify using Calcium tablets for Osteoporosis.
Dr Michael Greger MD has thoroughly covered the topics of Calcium and Osteoporosis in his webinar available to view for free:

All videos on the topic page for calcium provide a wealth of information including:
*Are Calcium Supplements safe? *Are Calcium Supplements effective for osteoporosis?

Recently Dr Greger reviewed prescription medications for osteoporosis:

Dr Greger also presented information on the side effects of acid blocking medications.
Low or no stomach acid linked to bone fractures.
Acid blocking meds also linked to increased risk of long-term chronic conditions that could be prevented:

Because Calcium Supplement tablets may have unwanted side effects, encourage patients at risk of osteoporosis to eat an abundance of plantbased foods.
When patients are taking acid blocking medications encourage them to prepare green vegetables as a blended drink or soup; steam until bright green; cook in water or broth with spices, chew raw veggies alot before swallowing.
To enjoy these green vegetables use whole food Tahini for sauce instead of Oil or Mayo to reduce reflux incidence:
